Objects and Reasons
The Objects and reasons of this Bill are to bring the provisions of the Employment and Industrial Relations Act in line with Directive (EU) 2015/1794 of 6th October 2015 amending Directives 2008/94/EC, 2009/38/EC and 2002/14/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, and Council Directives 98/59/EC and 2001/23/EC, as regards seafarers. Deadline for the transposition of the said directive is 10th October 2017.
