Deputy Speaker receives the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia on a courtesy visit
Deputy Speaker Claudette Buttigieg has received Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia Zyed Bouzouita on a courtesy visit.
The Deputy Speaker welcomed the new Tunisian Ambassador and referred to the cordial and friendly relations that exist between Malta and Tunisia. She added that these relations have been further enhanced by means of official visits, particularly last week’s state visit by President of the Republic of Malta Marie Louise Coleiro Preca who led a business delegation to Tunis.
The two dignitaries discussed issues of mutual interest, including trade and commercial relations, tourism and maritime affairs and mentioned the cooperation between their respective Parliaments through the formation of a Parliamentary Friendship Group. Migration and civil status also featured in the discussion.
