The Object of the Bill is to extend the jurisdiction of the Court of Magistrates of
Judicial Police to try persons charged with crimes punishable with imprisonment not exceeding ten years, to provide for the determination of questions which may be raised in relation to a procès-verbal, and to give persons indicted before the Criminal Court the option of being tried without a jury.
