The Ambassador of the Italian Republic Giovanni Umberto De Vito paid a farewell visit to Speaker Anġlu Farrugia, as the Ambassador’s tenure of office will soon come to an end.
Speaker Farrugia expressed his appreciation for Ambassador De Vito’s sterling work to further enhance the cordial and friendly bilateral relations that exist between the two neighbouring countries. The frequent high-level exchanges were mentioned as proof of these excellent relations.
They referred to the recent signing of the 15th Cultural and Educational Agreement, which identifies activities in the cultural and educational spheres.
They also discussed the international political scene, with particular reference to North Africa and the issue of migration.
Ambassador De Vito was accompanied by Andrea Marino, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Malta.
