Bill No. 30 - Import Duties (Amendment) Bill

Objects and Reasons

The Object of this Bill is to remove duty on equipment used for scaffolding and on protective clothing used in industry and to provide a particular rate of duty for special purpose motor vehicles used in industry, agriculture and construction.


The Bill provides for the transfer of meat tenderisers, deodorants and deodorizers from their present classification to other headings to bring them in line with the Explanatory Notes of the Customs Co-operation Council.

 

The Bill also provides for payment of duty on vehicles, firearms and weapons which were formerly exempted from duty under certain conditions.
