Reopen the Ta’ Qali Animal Hospital – Malta’s Animals Deserve Emergency Care
Date petition closes for signatures
The hospital has been closed for over 14 months, despite repeated promises that it would reopen "soon." In the meantime, small clinics — while doing their best — are overwhelmed and unequipped to deal with emergencies that require overnight monitoring, transfusions, or intensive care.
Last weekend, my dog Bruno passed away after ingesting rat poison. Because it happened during the weekend, we had nowhere to go. No clinic had the facilities or staff for emergency intervention. Bruno died in my arms after fighting with everything he had.
This is not just about Bruno. This is about every animal in Malta and every family that risks facing the same helpless situation.
Wherefore I/we respectfully request the House of Representatives to
Reopen the Ta' Qali Animal Hospital
Set a clear and public reopening timeline
Provide proper weekend and overnight emergency care for animals in Malta
We urge the authorities to take this issue seriously and act without further delay. Malta's animals — and the families who care for them — deserve proper, accessible emergency care.
