The objects and reasons of this Bill are to allow for the payment of an amount of rent for agricultural land that is more proportionate to the value of the agricultural land and this with a view of protecting the agricultural activity from speculation and, or not endangering the title of the tenant on the agricultural land on the basis of disproportion with values outside the agricultural context. The Bill introduces the possibility to issue regulations or guidelines regarding the relative calculations and estimates. The Bill also proposes an amendment regulating the situation of persons who continue to occupy a farmhouse as their sole place of residence and introduces another amendment to also allow an element of contractual freedom between the tenant and the lessor in certain circumstances permitted by law.
