Earlier this afternoon, Speaker Anġlu Farrugia received Deputy Ambassador and Chargé d’Affaires of the State of Kuwait, Mohammad Alnuaimi.

The two dignitaries recalled the friendly relations between the two countries, which have been enhanced by various high level visits that have taken place in the past. They referred to international situations, mainly the conflicts in Libya, Syria and Iraq. Malta’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union also featured in the talks.

The two sides  also discussed issues of mutual interest, particularly cooperation at Parliamentary level, including the request by the Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Kuwaiti National Assembly to visit Malta in the future.

Mr Alnuaimi was accompanied by the Public Relations Officer at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Malta, Hisham Mursi.
