PR170137 - The Speaker meets Italian Secretary of State for European Affairs – 23.01.17

Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia has this afternoon met Italian Secretary of State for European Affairs Sandro Gozi.

The two dignitaries highlighted the excellent bilateral relations which exist between the two countries and which have been strengthened by frequent high-level visits. 

They discussed the outcome of the COSAC meeting which was held this morning under the Parliamentary dimension of the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. They also referred to the international situation, particularly migration and Brexit.

Present for this courtesy visit were Mr Giovanni Umberto De Vito, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Malta, Mr Nicola Verola, Chief of Staff, and Ms Nadia Petroni, Liaison Officer.​
