Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of the Republic of Ivory Coast, Ms Janine Tagliante-Saracino.
Speaker Anġlu Farrugia said that diplomatic relations between Malta and Ivory Coast are relatively new, having only been established on 6th November 2015.
The two dignitaries discussed topics of mutual interest, mainly the Parliamentary system of both countries as well as exchanges between the respective Parliaments.
Reference was made to the good potential that Malta could offer in maritime services to the African country.
The relations between the EU and Ivory Coast and migration also featured in the meeting.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Ivory Coast, Ms Janine Tagliante-Saracino was accompanied by the Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Ivory Coast in Rome, Mr Timothee Ezoun.
