The main object of this Bill is to provide for the protection and assistance of unrepresented citizens, whether they are Maltese nationals, citizens of other Member States of the European Union, or third country nationals, by embassies and, or consulates of countries wherein the unrepresented citizen may be present at the time the need for assistance or protection arises.
